Pralines, simplified

Ingredients

2½ cups sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup corn syrup
8 Tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ cups chopped pecans
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut

Directions

Combine coconut and pecans in a bowl then set aside.

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar, milk, corn syrup, and butter. Stir until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Continue stirring and boil for 3 minutes. 

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract along with the coconut/pecan mixture. Stir well to combine.

Drop large spoonfuls on wax paper or nonstick aluminum foil. Allow to cool completely to harden then serve.
