Pizzeria Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

3 Tbsp butter, plus more for baking dish
1 tsp garlic powder
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup pecorino romano cheese
⅓ cup mozzarella cheese
¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
penne or macaroni pasta, cooked and drained
fresh basil, minced

Directions

Preheat oven to 400° and butter the inside of a large ramekin or baking dish.

Heat a 12″ skillet over medium-low, then add butter.

Once butter has melted, add heavy cream, Pecorino Romano, and Parmesan then stir until melted. Add cooked pasta and stir to coat noodles.

Add half of the mozzarella cheese and garlic powder. Stir until cheese is melted and well combined. Mixture should be slightly bubbly, but not browned.

Place contents of skillet into buttered baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil over the top then transfer to the center of the oven. Bake until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove from oven, garnish with basil, and serve.
