Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour
¼ tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1 ½ cups hot (not boiling) water, more as needed
Directions
Whisk together dry ingredients then add water. Mix thoroughly until combined, adding water as needed for the correct consistency. It will be a sticky dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to rest at room temperature for 3 hours or until doubled in size.
Scrape dough onto a floured work surface. Add by sprinkling a small amount of flour to the top of the dough. Work the flour into the dough with a bench scraper until combined. Form into a ball. Place a sheet of parchment paper into a bowl then place dough onto parchment. Cover with a towel and place a dutch oven inside a cold oven, then preheat the oven to 450°.
When thoroughly preheated, remove the Dutch oven. Lift the parchment paper with dough out of the bowl and place in the Dutch oven. Place the lid back on the Dutch oven and transfer back to the preheated oven. Bake for 35 minutes, remove the lid, and continue baking for 10 more minutes or until the loaf achieves a golden brown crust.
Remove loaf from Dutch oven and place on a rack to cool before serving.
